Application Form For GATE 2010
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is conducting GATE 2010 examination. All India based GATE – The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering entrance examination is managed and conducted in 8 zones across the country mutually by the GATE committee comprising faculty from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and 7 Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board-GATE, Government of India, Department of Education, and Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). Till the 22.09.2009 to 30.10.2009, GATE 2010 application forms will be available. Candidate can submit Application Form in both ways Offline and Online.
GATE is used as an Entrance Examination for Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship / assistantship at engineering colleges / institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE.
Eligibility criteria for GATE:
GATE Candidates must have following qualifications are eligible:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/technology/pharmacy
- Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent
- Qualifications equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AME by ICE(I))

Step 2: Obtain Digital Photo and Scanned Signature. Candidates are advised to have a digital photograph and scanned signature prior to starting the filling of application and these should be uploaded when applying Online. Otherwise they have to submit it later. |

| Step 4: Post/Submission
Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Registered or Speed post to The Chairman, GATE of the Zone, where the candidate prefers (corresponding to the 1st Choice of Examination City) to appear for the examination, on or before Tuesday, November 03, 2009 OR It can be handed over personally to respective Zonal GATE Office. |
Step 5: Post/Submission
An application which is incomplete by not uploading the necessary documents can be completed by sending those documents by post along with a covering note that can be printed on the online site. All such documents must reach the GATE office at IIT Kanpur by November 3, 2009. |

Availability of Application Forms For GATE 2010
You can get GATE forms by cash payment from elected branches of the particular banks corresponding to the zone an applicant lives in. The zonal GATE office of IITs and IISB also provide forms directly or you can choose way for the application form to send an application along with a demand draft to the corresponding zonal office.
Online form is another option to apply by filling the details send it along with a demand draft to the corresponding zonal office.

Pattern of Examination:
3 hours GATE Entrance test is consisting of objective type questions and every question has 4 choices. There is also minus marking for a wrong answer.
