Indian Forest Service Examination 2010 Results

The Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one the largest Forestry Services in India. The employees of the Indian Forest Service are recruited by the national government but hand out under the State government or Central Government including with the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service.

The Examination of the Indian Forest Service will be held through the Union Public Service Commission. The Indian Forest Service examination 2010 will be held from 10th July, 2010 for recruitment the employees.

ELIGIBILITY:

(1) Age Limit:

The age limit for the examination of Indian Forest Service is not less than 21 years and more than 30 years. The higher age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Tribes/ Scheduled Castes/ Other Backward Classes.

(2) Educational Qualifications:

Qualification for the Indian Forest Service is Bachelor’s degree from recognized University and having one of the subject of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with at least on subject of Physics, Statistics and Zoology.

(3) Physical Standards:

The Candidate must be physically fit according to the rules and regulations which given in Appendix-Ill of Rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2010. The rules and regulations are published in the Gazette of India dated 20″ February, 2010.

(4) Number of Attempts

The number of attempts allowed to the students permissible to different categories of aspirants who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows,
1. General Category: Four
2. Other Backward Classes: Seven
3. Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes(ST): No Limit

How to Apply?

  1. You can apply online for the exam forms from 27th February, 2010 and you have to submit the form on or before 15th March, 2010 for which a separate notice is to be issued.
  2. Candidates also apply offline; just you need to fill-up the Common application form which you can purchase from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-Ill of the Notice). The form available at just Rs. 20/- and one form should for one exam.

FEE:

The Fees for the examination is Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. OBC candidates have to pay full fees.

ADDRESS AND LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:

All the offline applications forms must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069″ by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, till the date of 22nd March, 2010.

If you are residing out of India or some from distant areas specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications forms by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 29th March, 2010.

IFS Standard of Papers:

The Standard of the Indian Forest Service papers in general English and related with general knowledge may be expected of a Science/Engineering graduate of an Indian University. The standard of papers in other subjects will be approximately that of Bachelor’s degree of an Indian University.
