Associated Press Lance Corporal Joshua M. Bernard Dead Body Photos

The only 21 years old Joshua M. Bernard was died in Afghanistan on Friday, August 14 2009, while he was supporting operations in Helmand province of Southern Afghanistan. The Associated Press (AP) had taken photos of Cpl. Bernard in his final moments and also published some of photos, which are the cause of controversy.

Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard will be most remembered in future and as sources told that Joshua Bernard was a great inclusion to US Marine. Joshua M. Bernard was hit with a rocket propelled grenade and later died of his wounds. American Legion National Commander Clarence E. Hill is called Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard’s AP photo is “outrageously irresponsible”. Bernard’s family asked the U.S. Marine Corps to help to stop the AP from making the pictures after they were notified of the existence of the images.

To stop the publication of these images, said by the defense secretary Robert Gates AP President Thomas Curley. AP said that “ It believes that the details and photos report on Bernard death and his last hours respectfully and conform to military regulations surrounding journalists embedded with US forces, the AP said.

However, photographs were released by Associated Press and totally disagreed to the controversy. See the photographs below:
