South African Caster Semenya: “Hermaphrodite” Test Result

The ‘Gender Test’ results has shown that Controversy over champion runner Caster Semenya is a ‘Hermaphrodite’. I hope you are familiar with Hermaphrodite; Hermaphrodites have neither male nor female sexual markers. It means that South African teenager gold-medalist Caster Semenya is a woman and man also. What is your reaction after hearing this news?
18-year-old Semenya indicate that she has both male and female sexual organs, no womb or ovaries and has internal testes, which is producing testosterone. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) received the results of Semenya’s gender and the result has been sent to experts for further analysis, so we will not be in a position to speak about anything for the athlete.
But the IAAF secretary general, Pierre Weiss powerfully hinted by saying that it is clear that she is a woman, but maybe not 100 per cent, as the test results stated on Thursday. He also added that they have to observe if she has a benefit from her probably being between two sexes compared to the others.
The probability is that IAAF would likely allow Semenya to keep her 800m title but she looks sure to be banned from competing in future women’s races. The IAAF will now have to decide whether to strip the teenager of the gold medal she won in Berlin.
