The couple exchanged vows in front of a breathtaking sunset. The 22 year Hilary, wore mermaid gown designed by Vera Wang at the wedding ceremony. She walked down the aisle with her mother Susan Duff, who was dressed in Badgley Mischka. The maid of honour was her sister, Haylie Duff and the bridal party completed with four more bridesmaids.
According to a source, “The couple chose the farm as a wedding venue where the late President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, spent their honeymoon. An insider said to the magazine that they chose the location because of ‘its sense of Old Hollywood glamour and romantic style’. The pro hockey player expressed his love with a $1 million engagement ring, and a source close to Mike tells In Touch”.
An eyewitness told People that “Mike held his arm around Hilary for most of the romantic, candlelit ceremony, and they both looked extremely happy.” Another onlooker told US Magazine as for the nuptials, “Absolutely stunning, It was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen. They thought of every last detail and it was an incredible sight.”
After wedding, the Hilary and Mike were spotted jetting off for their honeymoon. In Southern California, the couples were seen taking steps to their private jet. Mike, a 29 year old ice hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers, also played for the NY Islanders. Recently, Hilary has received a Choice TV Female Scene Stealer award at the Teen Choice Awards for her role as a starlet named Olivia Burke who trades her celebrity life for a normal college experience in CW hit, ‘Gossip Girl’. Hilary and Mike both looked happy at last weekend’s Teen Choice Awards.
