On the last night, “Late show”, staffer Stephanie Birkitt has been identified as a former girlfriend of David Letterman. Recently, Stephanie Birkitt lived with “48 hours” producer Robert “Joe” Halderman, who revealed Stephanie Birkitt affair news by her diary.

Robert “Joe” Halderman has been arrested after allegedly blackmailing for demanding $2 million to the late show host David Letterman. During the blackmailing, Halderman sent package which contained with copies of parts of a diary and correspondence belonging to Birkitt, letters, emails, and photos. Now he is charged with attempted grand larceny.
Source said that Stephanie and letterman had slept together for a period of time before he married his girlfriend Regina and their sexual relationship had ended before 2003, when his son harry was born. But after this relationship, Letterman would drive at least once a week at Birkitt home in Norwalk, where she had been sharing a house with Halderman in 2004.
Emmy award winning producer Halderman was allegedly strapped for cash because of $6,000 monthly child and spousal support payments. On Friday afternoon, he was allegation on a charge of attempted grand larceny in the first degree, punishable by up to 5 to 15 years in prison. For the blackmailing crime, he was sentenced to six months in jail, along with 1,000 hours of community service and five years probation.
Stephanie Birkitt was born in New Hampshire. She completed her graduation in 1997 with major in history and a minor in communications from Wake Forest University. She began her career as a page for CBS New and the Late Show in 1996. Birkitt’s role finally achieved her some on-air time, including reporting on the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2006. Over the year she also showed in several stunts and comedy skits and handed out prizes for part of Stump the Band, Audience Show and Tell, and Know Your Current Events.
In 2008, she got degree of law from Benjamin Cardozo Law School. In 2009 she passed the Connecticut bar exam.
