On Sunday, August 30, the 36th annual Daytime Emmy Awards 2009 was held at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles hosted by Vanessa Williams. Daytime Emmy Awards 2009 were presented with live TV coverage on CW network with starting time at 8:00 until 10:00 pm ET.
“Sesame Street” won the Lifetime Achievement Award, for its 40 years of educating and entertaining children. For Outstanding Talk Show Host, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Sheri Shepherd and Elisabeth hasselbeck, won the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards.
At the Daytime Emmys, there were lots of first-time winners including “The Bold and the Beautiful” won its first Outstanding Drama Series title, Susan Haskell (“One Life to Live”) as best actress, Tamara Braun (“Days of Our Lives”) as best supporting actress and “Days” co-star Darin Brooks as best younger actor.
Since 1972, this event has been held and Daytime Emmy Awards are annual awarding event which honors top and the best in American daytime television.
