Usually I actually prefer more local holidays as they tend to be more convenient, but I may have to venture further to visit some of these! I live in the UK and we often stay for a week or so in London and "explore our own back garden", as they say. Last year we stayed near Stratford and it was one of the best holidays I've been on yet. Planning on going back to the same hotel for London 2012. Mary I love this website, I always read the articles.
