Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is an action role-playing game which has been out in Japan since January 2010. It is developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable. Presently, the Kingdom Hearts is planned to release in North America and Europe in September. In Japan, the game was released with a limited edition PSP-3000 as a bundle attributing designs from the Kingdom Hearts series on its back. The creator of the game, Nomura suggests that for the best flow and understanding of the storyline, you should play the game in chronological order as Terra first, Ventus second, and lastly Aqua. But, the video walkthrough that provided here starts with Ventus. The game is referred as “Episode 0″ by the Nomura, saying that the game is on the same scale and plays as big a significance as Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep allows you to select between three different characters Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. The three different characters plot lines are all pretty different and they are also all linked, so to obtain the most out of the story you must play through all three characters. You will end up with a game as long as a normal console, if you play through each character’s storyline to obtain the full scope of the game irrespective of whether you do all the side quests or not.

The game starts off with a short tutorial built into the story similarly to most Kingdom Hearts games. To observe shooting stars, you control Ven as he runs outside. Firstly you are introduced to jumping (press X) and moving (use the analog stick). With L and R, you can also rotate the camera. Move forward to the Trail area when you are ready.

Trail:

Employ some basic combat here. First perform a three-hit combo on the close by circle ornament (press O). Some HP balls will fall out; if you did it right and you will be intended for the next set of ornaments. Then, use a Battle Command for further play. From the bottom-left menu (use the up and down buttons), choose a command that you like and press Triangle to use it. These commands let you to do advanced attacks, however there is a cool down period between when you employ a command and when you can use it once more. They will all start to rotate after hitting an ornament with a Battle Command. To complete this part of the tutorial, target one with the L+R buttons.

Now, a chest will appear on the ledge halfway up the Trail. Ascend to it and open it with O to obtain the Slide Dash Battle Command. You can go into the Menu (press Start) and change one of your current Battle Commands with Slide Dash, if you want but you don’t really require worrying about the menu yet if you don’t want to. Head onward to the Summit area when you are ready.

Summit:

You will be provided the Friendship Charm by Aqua after a cutscene. Now, you will have to go through some more basic battle training using all three main characters. First, you have to control Terra. Press square even as holding still to guard an attack by Ven and subsequently you require hitting him with a finisher move. Keep attacking normally until your Command Bar is congested. Further attacking will cause you to use a powerful finisher move and to continue it, hit Ven. To use a Shoot Lock ability against Ven with Aqua, press and hold L+R. Maintain the screen focused on him to queue up a lot of attacks, and then press O to unleash. Shoot Locks are limit attacks that do a lot of injure and make you unbeatable while they are going off, but the catch is you are susceptible while queuing up objects.

Now, you have to fight proper with one of the main characters against another. So, select anyone you want, and have fun. It doesn’t matter to win or lose, it is just for practice. After you complete with sparring, head over to the nearby save point and save the game. Now, you have finished the tutorial.

Character Selection:

Select one of the three characters to focus on. Each character has separate story and you will have to make a separate save game for each. You can perform the stories in whatever order you desire (or even do some at the same time).
