Ruby Sanctum Strategy & Walkthrough: World of Warcraft Guide

Ruby Sanctum is World of Warcraft‘s new raid instance! Halion is the main boss of the Ruby Sanctum. Ruby Sanctum will contain four bosses named as Halion – the Twilight Destroyer and three drakes, Baltharus the Warborn, General Zarithrian, and Saviana Ragefire, in a setup reminiscient of Obsidian Sanctum. The Ruby Sanctum strategy consists of 3 phases. The first one (until he’s down to 75%) takes place on the physical (normal) realm, the seconds phase (Until he’s 50%) is done on a Twilight realm, and the last one (50% and below) takes place on both simulations with raid split between 2 realms. His realm is vulnerable spot for him. So damaging his emperor will make him bigger damage on the other realm, but also buff him therefore makes more damage. You can not leave one realm unfocused as he will start rapidly therapeutic himself. Ruby Sanctum will contain four bosses named as Halion the Twilight Destroyer and three drakes, Baltharus the Warborn, General Zarithrian, and Saviana Ragefire, in a setup reminiscient of Obsidian Sanctum.

The Ruby Sanctum: Halion Strategy and Walkthrough Guide

Halion – Boss, Health: 25 Man = 45 Million, 10 Man = 18 Million.

The main abilities of bosses of Ruby Sanctum:

Basic dragon attacks:

Halion has a flame breath attack (about 45K damage, 2 secs cast time), tail attack and cleave like all dragons.

Phase-I Halion’s Physical realm Abilities:

Meteor Strike (12 Yards AOE): Deals about 80K fire damage on a random spot on the room, and then spreads out fire trails in an X shape from the point on impact. ( In heroic mode also spawn an elemental add).

Fiery Combustion : Does about 4K damage every 2 seconds, and puts a debuf on the player, which upon removal puts a patch of AOE on the ground that causes damage to player in it, and also knocks them out of it (how handy). The patch on the ground is bigger the longer it took to remove the Debuff.

Phase-II Halion’s Twilight realm Abilities:

Death Orbs: In addition to the normal dragon attacks, Halion summons 2 death orbs that rotate around the room, and shoot death beam that connects them and kills any player caught inside. This forces the raid to keep rotating around Halion.

Soul Consumption: Just like the fire ability on the physical realm, only this time the patch upon dispel pulls players inside it instead of pushes them away.

Phase-III Ruby Sanctum Tactics step by step:

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 1: Position yourself in a “traditional dragon format” and pull Halion. It means all the attack stays to his side to avoid tail and breath attacks.

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 2: Player should quickly run to the edges of the arena when he receives the Combusion Debuff and be dispelled / decoursed out of it as far away from raid as possible.

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 3: Before meteors will hit a patch will appear on the ground indicating where it’s going to fall. Stay clear of it, and beware the X shape trails leading from it outwards.

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 4: When Halion is dropped down to 75% he will summon a portal to the twilight realm and disappear, use the portal and follow him there

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 5: You should keep rotating the raid around Halion to avoid the death beams of the death orbs on the far ends of the arena.

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 6: If you haven’t used bloodlust yet phase 2 is a good time, since pulling bloodlust on phase 3 is not advisable (unless you have 2 bloodlusts, 1 for each realm, but still, will be thorny).

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 7: Halion will split himself for both realms when he is fallen down to 50%. Split yourself as well, with even DPS split between 2 realms. Ranged should prefer the physical realm (no need to avoid death orbs) and Melee the Twilight realm (no need to avoid the X fire patches on the ground).

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 8: It is more important to continue the DPS on both realms so don’t hustle too much. And no one realm group is making the other realm’s Halion hit too hard. There is an indicator on the top of the screen. 50% indicator suggests the DPS is evened.

Ruby Sanctum Tactics step 9: Be careful till your victory or the end of the fight and you should be golden.

AWESOME vid and awesome music, who are the 2 songs on the vid, love em! That looks like a fast-paced battle.

The ambiguous unclear, self referencing confuses me. Does Soul Consumption pull players or push them? This walk through needs a serious rewrite/edit. A bit more maturity would help. Moreover, the audio should demonstrate relevance: not just a convenient display platform for that grinding obstreperous noise of driving vomit that passes for music these days. Try something novel such as explaining the walk through rather than showing-off their masturbation of UI mechanics /click speed /macros.

Yeah… I am mighty aggravated by Blizzard’s moving of the teleporter that was in BB. I was trying to get in to complete the classic dungeons, but now if I want to go into gnomeregan I must run through loch modan and dun morough.

Anyhoo, I suppose I’d best get back to it. Yikes, I’m hooked.
