Holi is a festival of colors. Most of the people like holi festival, all of them enjoying in this festival with their friends and family members. People are dancing and playing with different colors. They smear colors in the air and and on each other and also drink ‘bhang’. According to Hindus, Holi is celebrated in the end of the winter season on the last full moon day of the lunar month Phalguna. This year Holi falls on 28th February and ‘Duleti’ falls on 1st March. As per the Hindu religion, Holi is memorizing for the sacrifice of Holika who burnt herself in fire on this day. Holi is also regards to be the festival to celebrate good harvests and fertility of the land.
Holi is incomplete without songs. People enjoy songs while playing Holi, it gives Folk touch. Among all Hindi songs, ‘Rang Barse…’ song from the film Silsilay is the popular one. There are also other numerous songs of holi available in different languages.
