Keni Thomas Black Hawk Down‎

Keni Thomas – an American country singer and speaker on the “Black Hawk Down” mission presented the National Anthem on yesterday 28th Oct. at the opening of the 40th World Series game. Keni Thomas served in the U.S. Army throughout the 90s who performed in the tribute to his fellow American heroes.

At the time of the battle of Mogadishu in 1983, Black Hawk Down was about Keni Thomas and fellow Task Force Rangers’ efforts. Country Singer is also a motivational speaker and when he served in the Army, he took part in the ill-fated “Black hawk Down” mission in Somalia.

For Valor and the Combat Infantryman Badge, Keni Thomas would receive the Bronze Star. His statement to MLB.com on 28th Oct. night – “This is the only song I get nervous singing. Not because I’m afraid I’m going to forget the words but just the emotion of it.” He also said that as a veteran, it is a privilege and an honor to be part of Major League Baseball’s tribute to veterans, and to represent country music.

May be, with fellow rangers, the 18 hour fight in Somalia is basis of the book and movie Black Hawk Down. The special operations package known as Task Force Ranger’s, Thomas and B Company were part of it.

The singer has dedicated much of his time and money to help veterans and their families.
