President Barack Obama delivered speech at the NAACP annual convention July 16, 2009 in New York City. Obama’s NAACP speech focus on the civil rights pioneers, freedom and hard work.
Obama discussed 45 minute on the civil rights movement and the importance of carrying on civic responsibility at the 100th anniversary of the nation’s oldest civil rights organization which was established in 1909 by founding members W.E.B.
Obama told about the African American unemployment concerns and encouraging the black community to form a new mindset about education. Obama also marked the economic crisis, a broken health care system and the nation’s energy policy. He also urged African-Americans to take responsibility for their own success.
Obama said about an African-American health “We know that even as we imprison more people of all races than any nation in the world, an African-American child is roughly five times as likely as a white child to see the inside of a jail.”
Here Obama told to parents that how to tackle your kids when they fail in school examination said to parents “For our kids to excel, we must accept our own responsibilities. That means putting away the Xbox and putting our kids to bed at a reasonable hour. It means attending those parent-teacher conferences, reading to our kids, and helping them with their homework.”
He continued and said “I want them aspiring to be scientists and engineers, doctors and teachers, not just ballers and rappers. I want them aspiring to be a Supreme Court Justice. I want them aspiring to be President of the United States.” More information here.
