An American television actor and singer, Pernell Roberts has died at the age of 81 on Sunday January 24, 2010 at his Malibu California home due to pancreatic cancer. Pernell Roberts was famous for his role as Adam Cartwright, on the “Bonanza” and the lead role on the medical drama series “Trapper John M.D.” He married four times in his life but had only one son Jonathan Christopher Roberts, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1989. In 1951, his first marriage was to Vera Mowry (a professor at Washington State University) with whom he had his only child (Jonathan Christopher Roberts); they later divorced. His second marriage was with Judith Anna LeBreque on October 15, 1962 and divorced in 1971. Then he had married to Kara Knack in 1972 and divorced in 1996. Three of Roberts’ marriages finished in divorce. Eleanor Criswill, his forth wife was at his side when he died.
