Sandra Bullock competed for the best Actress Oscar this year against Helen Mirren in The Last Station, Carey Mulligan in An Education, Gabourey Sidibe in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, and Meryl Streep in Julie & Julia.
Sandra Bullock started her career in the 1994 action film speed alongside Keanu Reeves. She went on to score box office successes in While You Were Sleeping and Miss Congeniality. Before the Oscar award, Sandra bullock won Razzies award on Saturyday for “all about steve”, which was a romantic comedy for the year 2009. She has already won the Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe awards, and tied Streep at the Broadcast film critics’ awards.
Bullock in her acceptance speech said that “I have so many people to thank but not enough time. But I want to thank my family and my family of the film, everyone who showed kindness and also those who were mean. I want to thank my mom…,” and also said “I share this award with these extraordinary women and my ‘lover’ Meryl Stree”.
Daily Express online reported “The 45 year old Bullock blasted into the record books in 2010 by becoming the first female star to single handedly carry a movie to more than USD 200 million at the US box office”.
