Shohreh Aghdashloo’s Early life:

Shohreh Aghdashloo was born on 11th May 1952 in Tehran, Iran, and grown in the wealthy family. Aghdashloo is the name of famous Iranian painter Aydin Aghdashloo, who was her former husband. Later in 1970, she had started acting with frequent roles on the stage. In “Gozaresh” directed by famous Abbass Kiarostami, she played the suicidal role of wife, which was her screen debut. However that film was of her native country, it won the Critics Award at the Moscow Film Festival. Her second film Shatranje Baad (loosely translated: Chess with the Wind) directed by Mohammad Reza Aslani was also screened at several international festivals and was banned in her home country. In 1978 she was acclaimed by her next film Sooteh Delan (Broken Hearts), directed by Ali Hatami, and became one of Iran’s leading actresses.

Career:

During the 1979 Revolution, Aghdashloo fled her country for Windermere, Cumbria, England in 1978. She completed her study at there. She was interested in politics and concern for social injustice in the world. she got a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She continued her acting and moved to Los Angeles for her career. She met with actor/playwright Houshang Touzie and married with him in 1987. With Touzie, she produced a theater company which performed in Farsi, primarily for the benefit of the local Iranian community. In 1989 they had one daughter named Tara Touzie.

In 1989, Guests Of Hotel Astoria was her American film debut. “Nowhere to Turn: in 1990″ Nowhere to Turn: A Matlock Mystery Movie” was her TV debut, in which she played a guest role of saleslady.
