Officers in Orange Park, Florida have found and identified the body of child Somer Thompson on Wednesday in a Georgia landfill. 7-year-old Somer Thompson’s partially covered body was found near the Florida state line in a Georgia landfill where she was misplaced. Pictures of Somer Thompson are given below.
Aerial photos of the landfill were taken by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations from a helicopter. The other investigators were walking the grounds, where all garbage is taken from that area and from where she disappeared while returning home from school on Monday.
Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler confirmed that the body was of first-grader Somer Thompson on thursday morning. Beseler told that at a 7.15 am they were able to make a positive identification from the birthmark on the lower extremity of the child, along with some clothing items that she was wearing in news conference. Beseler called Somer’s mom, Diena Thompson after positive identification that “She was absolutely devastated“.
