Ted Kennedy Chappaquiddick incident Death

The Ted Kennedy Chappaquiddick incident has become an extra sensitive due to Ted Kennedy’s death. Chappaquiddickis was the place where Ted Kennedy had attended a party in July 1969. It is a small island connected via ferry to the town of Edgartown on the adjoining larger island of Martha’s Vineyard.

Mary Jo Kopechne of 28 was come in party – named “the boiler girls” and other guys had worked on Robert Kennedy’s presidential campaign.

Mary Jo Kopechne left the party and Kenedy told friends he was tired. So he would drive himself. They caught the last ferry off the island and Mary Jo Kopechne was a passenger in Senator Ted Kennedy’s car. Kennedy drove off his car off a bridge and into a pool on Chappaquiddick Island on Martha’s Vineyard. Later he told it was a mistake because of the dark and tiredness

However Kennedy tried to escape from the water, but, Mary Jo Kopechne died. He did not report the accident, but told that he tried to save her. Finally he found guilty and sentenced to two months in jail but it was suspended.
