Ted Kennedy, an American political dynasty and one of the most influential senators in history, has died on Tuesday August 25th 2009 following a long battle with the brain cancer. He was seventy seven years old. In May 2008, he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor.
Kennedy was survived by his daughter Kara Kennedy Allen, two sons Edward Moore Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Joseph Kennedy, two stepchildren Caroline and Curran Raclin and a congressman from Rhode Island.
A statement from his family told that Edward M. Kennedy, the husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle we loved so deeply, died late Tuesday night at home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. They have lost the irreplaceable center of their family and joyous light in their lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in their hearts forever.
