Walgreens H1N1 Shot provides protection against influenza infection that develops in the body. It effects around two weeks after vaccination. According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the seasonal flu shot is not enough to obtain protection against the pandemic H1N1 influenza, a prevention of the H1N1 flu virus needs a separate H1N1 vaccine, so Walgreens is working with the U.S. government that manages the development and disbursement of an H1N1 vaccine.

Walgreens has announced to offer H1N1 vaccine at more than 1,500 Walgreens pharmacies and 27 Take Care Clinics in 27 states, including the District of Columbia and continues to work with government agencies in 23 other U.S. states to receive and distribute the H1N1 vaccine.
