Beltane, or May Day is the fertility festival making the beginning of summer. People regularly decorate their neighbor’s doorstep with fresh flowers, enjoy picnics with their families. This represents the Goddess in superiority of Mother, and the the death of the God after the beginning of Divine Child.
May Day is celebrated on 1st May in many places around the world. The traditions and stories surrounding May Day vary from place to place. And the use of flowers is common in all places. One of the popularity on May day is hang a basket full of spring flowers and other gifts on a neighbor’s doorknob.
The tradition of the early Roman and Druid holiday of May Day has tolerated for centuries. Its has been a festival of spring changing into the pleasures of summer. A “Maypole ” was the focus of the festivals. On 1st May the popular activity is to collecting flowers and branches became a traditional and “bringing in the May.”
