Quicksilver Eddie Aikau 2009 Photos

The Eddie Aikau Surf Contest is a surfing competition held in Hawaii, officially known as The Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational in Memory of Eddie Aikau. He was well known Hawaiian lifeguard and surfer. He saved many lives and became famous for surfing the big Hawaiian surf and winning several awards. His first official wave ride is lifeguard and surf for up to eight hours at a time without breaks, riding beautifully. See the Quicksilver Eddie Aikau 2009 pictures below.

Quiksilver.com/Eddie had launched the 25th anniversary celebration of the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational 2009 which was held at Waimea Bay on December 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. The waves were twenty feet or more in Hawaiian-style, which means they are considered humbly from the back.

The Quicksilver Eddie Aikau event’s opening ceremony was held on December 3, 2009 and the holding period runs December 1, 2009 until February 28, 2010. Minimum twenty-eight surfers has competed for the grand prize of $98,000.
