An amazing conceptual mobile phone for Finnish brand Nokia Powered by Coca-Cola has been created by Chinese designer Daizi Zheng.
A conceptual mobile phone has been created by Chinese designer Daizi Zheng for Finnish brand Nokia that could be powered by sugary drinks such as Coca-cola. According to Zheng, the phone could run on a biodegradable bio-battery that generates electricity by using enzymes as the catalyst from carbohydrates. The by-products are water and CO2. Additionally, this coke-powered battery can operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium batteries on a single charge.
The phone can run for numerous hours and when the battery runs down, it produces water and carbon dioxide. When the phone produces water and carbon dioxide, it becomes empty, then you have to refilled it with more Coca-Cola to generate water and oxygen. The phone is designed as a client project for Nokia by Zheng, but there is no news about any disclosure for the incorporation of the concept into future products. Bio battery is used in this concept to replace the traditional battery to make a pollution free environment.
The “Coke Phone” is still in the concept phase. As presently conceived, the phone has a 30-milliliter (1 oz) storage area into which the user pours the cola. That should provide enough juice for several hours of talk or a full week of standby time.
Zheng wrote on her project’s website, “It brings a whole new perception to batteries and afternoon tea”. The following text is from Daizi Zheng:– “Eco-friendly phone for Nokia. This is a client project for designing an eco friendly phone for Nokia. Through out my research, I found that phone battery as a power source, it is expensive, consuming valuable resources on manufacturing, presenting a disposal problem and harmful to the environment.”
