Guinness World Records will officially certified Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal, as the tiniest man in the world this October when he becomes 18 years old in October 14. He is only 2 feet tall and weighs nearly 4.5 kg. Khagendra Thapa Magar is set to take the official crown from 2ft 5in He Ping Ping of China, who died on March 13. Magar was rejected to be considered for the Guinness Book of World Records, before he turned to 18 years because he was a teen and there was no category for the smallest teen in the Guinness World Records.
Magar was born in Baglung District, 125 miles from the capital Kathmandu. In his native Nepal, Khagendra has become a celebrity of sorts where politicians are calling for him to be recognised officially as the smallest in the world. Magar undergo from learning disabilities and he studies at a nursery school. Magar loves to dance in his free time. He is very close to his parents and even after his marriage he would like to stay close to them. Magar’s parents are now searching for a suitable bride for him. It is suspected by doctor that Magar may be having a malfunctioning pituitary gland so he is small in size. His mother, Noemi Hernandez said, “He hasn’t grown since he was two years old.” She also said that her son weighed only 600 grams, or 1 pound and 6 ounces, at birth time.
At the weekends, he helps his parents in their fruit shop in Pokhara and watches karate shows on television in spare time. “Once I am named as the world’s smallest man then I can fulfill my dream of visiting the United States of America,” said Khagendra. He also said, “I can show off my dancing moves and I can show people how good I am at karate.” Mr Hernandez says he already has a girlfriend. She’s 18, is named Fanny and measures just less than 5ft. On September 15, an advance copy Guinness World Records 2011 edition is going to be launched in the United States. In that book, Mrs. Hernandez shows her son a picture of the world’s smallest woman, who is from India.
