The first WEBN fireworks show happened in 1977, this celebration was started off as a small birthday party for the radio station and this event draws over 500,000 people from all over the world to the Cincinnati Riverfront every year. The annual Toyota/WEBN fireworks are a celebration of river heritage. WEBN owner Frank “Bo” wood celebrated the first decade of his station by shooting off some fireworks.

This year riverfront featured the 33rd annual Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks held on the Riverfront at 9:05 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2009 on special Labor Day. The celebration was different, with new live music soundtrack, new features, and new expectation for a fireworks show, it was hardly a high production.

This year many people were getting good seats on early Sunday morning to watch the fireworks show with friends and family. The other popular spots are the Newport Riverfront, the Covington Floodwall and the Serpentine Wall in Cincinnati. The evening ended with Cincinnati Bell and Rozzi’s famous Fireworks on the Ohio River. The WEBN Fireworks 2009 was broadcast live on city local Television station.
