AmeriPlan is an American Corporation that provides its customers discounts in their medical expenses and is the largest program of its type in the country. It is not a health insurance plan but it’s a medical discount plan wherein once you enroll into their plan they provide you a list of doctors or pharmacies where you can get discounts on your medical bills. They claim to be the premier provider of healthcare packages in America. They are also known to provide home based jobs where you are given the role of a broker who sells these discount plans to the people with no health insurance. A huge percentage of the American population are devoid of legitimate health insurance plans owing to higher premiums, deductibles and co-payments charged by them.

The legitimate of this plan has been hugely criticized by many. All those who have enrolled into it or the ones who work for AmeriPlan have come with a list of complaints and accusations. Some brokers were ripped off their income and were terminated without proper justification. They were asked to read the fine print on their offer letters which would say a broker can be suspended for any reason or no reason. They ask to register the complaints via “Direct Selling Association” but they have no intention to attend to these complaints and move on to fair mediation. The twin American brothers Dennis and Daniel Bloom, who own AmeriPlan, were also criticized for not having any kind of concern or a meaningful involvement in the matters of the employees of the corporation.
Complaints about AmeriPlan Dental & Health Insurance
Complaints about lost feedbacks and how an employee was not allowed to voice his/her opinion regarding any flaws of the company was also observed to be very prevalently practiced. Most of the doctors have withdrawn their collaboration with the corporation and people who are really ignorant about all these fail to double check on the names of doctors enlisted in their area who accept these discount cards. This company’s primary motive is to sell you a dream of selling the dream to others, to whom you need to be selling the dream in the first place. It’s a vicious cycle that never works on a positive note.
The entire head office is run by members of the same family. The entire corporate staff comprises of the head broker’s siblings and relatives. There have been charges of disorganization and corruption at the core of the company. They sometimes make their brokers sell plans into a provider network where there are no doctors enrolled into this plan. They suspend their employees without prior notice and hold back the commissions owed to the broker. There have also been reports of instances where a customer is offered a credit card of $249. This card is supposed to be used for medical expenses that are covered by AmeriPlan. The customer was informed that they would receive the card even before the cash is debited with AmeriPlan. Often the customers do not receive the card but they are charged the amount for the card. On calling customer care to know the reasons as to why the customer did not receive the card, the response they get is appalling, which says the customer can no longer get the $249 deal for reasons unknown. When the customer tries to cancel this plan over the phone they are redirected to use the service online which in turn is as useless as the other procedures of cancellation.
AmeriPlan claims that they have never had these complaints before but the fact remains that it is not a genuine service and has a huge following of disappointed customers.
