Planet Fitness is an American franchise of fitness centers which offers a variety of fitness routines, aerobics and step classes, free weights, and kickboxing, power yoga, calisthenics, strength training, among others. It is based in Dover, New Hampshire. To help the member of gyms, each gym features exercise equipment and personal trainers. Planet Fitness gym is a unisex and it also offers sauna facility.
In the United States, planet fitness gym is the most innovative health club brand. Planet Fitness is recognized for a lot of things; their idiotically low prices, their lunk alarm, and most of all perhaps, for their Judgement Free Zone® philosophy. Judgement Free Zone® philosophy means without being subjected to the hard-core, look-at-me attitude that mostly present in too many gyms, members can relax, get in shape, and have fun.
In 1992, the fitness club was established, when Michael Grondahl got a financially struggling gym and dramatically decreased prices to race against better-known brands. The main focus of the low-cost business model is on the needs of infrequent or first-time health club members rather than more experienced members. In 2003, plant fitness started franchising. Now, it has 300+ clubs in 31 states and a membership base nearing 2 million. Planet Fitness posted revenues of $100 million in 2008. The Franchise has been added to the Inc. 500 list and the Planet Fitness is number 471 on this year’s Inc. 500 list.
