Mirrorless Design
EOS-M is little bit smaller but more hand-friendly compared to DSLR. It has sleek, elegant and compact design with gorgeous contoured edges. Its body is created from polycarbonate resin, stainless steel and magnesium alloy, which provide high quality feel. It comes with attractive paint finish and a perfect balance of body vs. lens. You will find a dial on the top of it and a 3-inch LCD screen rear. The company has replaced various manual control buttons with on-screen menus. The measures and weight of this camera are 108mm x 66mm x 32mm and 298g (without a lens) respectively.
Processor
It sports high performance Powerful DIGIC 5 Image Processor similar to 650D, EOS 1DX and EOS 5D Mark III. This processor promises impressive image quality video and photos. It also offers increased low-light sensitivity range, which is from ISO 100 to12800. This range can be expanded up to ISO 25600 for shooting in extremely low-light conditions. To reduce the inherent noise while working at high ISOs, the camera includes Multi Shot Noise reduction. The processor increases the operational speed of the camera. The camera is able to capture images between 0.2 and 0.5 seconds, thanks to extremely short shutter lag. The maximum burst speed of the camera can capture up to 17 JPEG/6 RAW images.
18MP CMOS sensor
EOS-M features 18MP APS-C hybrid CMOS sensor, which we found in EOS-650D. The measures of this sensor are 22.3 x 14.9 mm. It offers a large dynamic range, a shallow depth of field and amazing low-light image quality. It also provides fast autofocus speed for images and video. Screen

Lenses
The company released two lenses such as EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens (optional) and EF-M 22mm f/2 STM kit lens for EOS-M. The 22mm lens is similar to 35.2mm lens in full-frame format, which makes it the best choice for street photography. The f/2 aperture of the lens helps in low light situation and action shooting, and also offers larger room for selective focus. The lens is made up of one aspherical element and 7 diaphragm blades (Circular aperture diaphragm). The 22mm lens is perfect for shooting video and still images while 18-55mm lens offers more focal range versatility. EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens offers a variable zoom range with video recording or photographing. Users can use any Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses along with these two lenses.
Creative and Intelligent Modes
EOS-M is equipped with Intelligent Auto mode, which decides the best exposure settings quickly according to various pre-configured settings. There is a Live View mode, which helps you to see cropping lines for a range of aspect ratios before taking the shot. There are also a number of other features that enhance how you use your camera in depicting scenes. You will find Handheld Night Scene mode and HDR Backlight Control mode to change the exposure by joining different frames together. There are also 7 Creative Filters such as Water Painting Effect, Miniature Effect, Art Bold Effect, etc.
Canon EOS M Flash
There is no inbuilt flash in the camera so the company is providing an external flash, a Speedlite EX90. It is compact and lightweight flash, which comes with guide number of 30’ / 9m (at ISO 100) and includes sufficient coverage for use with a 24mm lens.
