Apparently, HTC plans to release HTC Flyer tablet as first model in the 1st quarter of this year from its three forthcoming tablet PCs. As per sources, HTC Flyer tablet’s shipping will be set up in March.
Basically, the information about the release of HTC Flyer tablet is confirmed by DigiTimes. The company missed the chance to attend the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, CES 2011. Actually, they want to launch three tablets simultaneously during the first quarter of 2011.
The HTC Flyer tablet seems an extended version of Desire smartphone of HTC that runs on Android 2.2 and has 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The sources have described that HTC will release the Flyer tablets together with a telecom carrier for hitting the market before the expected release of BlackBerry maker RIM’s PlayBook in March and Motorola’s Xoom in April. Any information regarding the HTC Flyer tablet release and its price is not confirmed officially until now.
HTC Flyer will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread that can be upgraded to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) when the new Operating System is on hand as said by the sources. The sources also said that the HTC Flyer tablet will be offered in another markets from beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2011 and other two HTC’s Android 3.0 packed tablets will be expectedly come in June.
