HTC is on the wave; all eyes are pointed on HTC M8 or HTC One 2 or HTC Two, which is set to be the next flagship device from the company, replacing the award-winning HTC One. The rumors of the upcoming smartphone have been going around since last two months, and sometimes they have been contradictory. HTC hasn’t yet made the M8 smartphone official, however we have been bombarded with leaks from all sides, and it seems that there will be one huge feature to make it stand out i.e. a twin-sensor rear camera. HTC is sure to announce something major about the smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Here, check out all the HTC M8 rumors and speculations that can help us create a picture of what to expect from HTC.

HTC M8 rumours

The HTC M8 seems to be launched in early next year, and will be appearing to take on the likes of the future Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5. The rumored list comes from @evleaks, who has been précised with his earlier mobile-related leaks, labels the HTC M8’s specs as “preliminary,” so even if they may seem good, also they may be only a subject to change. @evleaks has not posted an image of the smartphone also not mentioned an actual launch date for the handset.

The HTC One featured a slightly smaller 4.7-inch display compared to its other competitors in 2013. But now, HTC is said to adopt a slightly larger display size of a 5-inch or 5.2-inch screen and stick to the same full HD, 1920 x 1080 resolution for the HTC M8. Besides Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z, HTC One was included in the list of the first set of Android smartphones to make the jump to a 1080p display, so we’re sure its successor won’t be making a step back to 720p. Moreover, the M8 won’t have any physical buttons on its body, so that HTC may be shifting to virtual buttons – as on the Nexus line of devices, the LG G2, several Xperia smartphones, and others. Under the hood, the M8 is estimated to have the Snapdragon 800 system chip, however in a more powerful than the presently used one variation – the MSM8974AB.

Operating System

Many handsets of HTC are still languishing on Android 4.2 or also 4.1, however by the time when HTC M8 arrives, it will be running the very latest version – Android 4.4 KitKat – and certainly it will be coated in a heavy layer of HTC’s Sense overlay. Word is that the HTC M8 will come with a brand spanking new version – Sense 6.0. There’s no details on how the UI would appear, however HTC is planning to use version of the current Sense, which means improved BlinkFeed along with the addition of Android’s new features.

HTC broke the camera phone mould with the One, as it sets up its Ultrapixel lens and ensued to slap it on the Mini and Max alternatives of the phone too. It seems that HTC is sticking to its UltraPixel guns with a 4-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2.1-megapixel on the front, meaning a number of the major changes are probable to be software-oriented. Twin-sensor camera – The HTC M8 will be the first phone to have such a dual camera, without intending it directly at 3D photography. Instead, rumors consent that the dual-sensor setup will supply most to better focusing, depth of field and overall image quality.

Fingerprint Sensor

Only some months after the iPhone 5s came with TouchID, HTC took a leaf out of Apple’s book when it included a fingerprint sensor to the HTC One Max. Presently, it’s one of the only Android smartphones with biometric security, although there’s a good possibility the HTC M8 might join its ranks. As per the leaked cover image, a third cutout above the camera sensor and flash can point out existence of a fingerprint reader.
