HTC Sensation XL: Specs of Smartphone with Beats Audio


Recently, latest HTC Sensation XL has been announced by HTC Corporation, the world’s 5th largest Smartphone maker. This 4.7-inch Smartphone is coming from the partnership of HTC and BEATS Audio. It is a sequel of HTC Sensation XE which was a 1st Smartphone paired with the Beats Audio. It was launched at Beats event of HTC at the Roundhouse in London and it will be the third Smartphone in the Sensation range of HTC. However, it will be the first Smartphone in the Sensation range without a dual-core processor.

Design and Performance

HTC Sensation XL comes with a stunning display and a multimedia powerhouse. HTC Sensation XL is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread version of HTC Titan and is powered by a single-core, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 Snapdragon processor. It is designed with a massive 4.7-inch WVGA Gorilla-glass touch screen having Super LCD resolution of 480×800 pixels and dimensions of 132.5 x 70.7 x 9.9mm. It is also featured with 768 megabytes of RAM, triband HSPA/WCDMA, HTC Sense 3.5 UI, WiFi b/g/n, 16GB of in-built memory, quad band GSM/EDGE, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, SRS surround sound, HD video recording with 2 microphones and a 1600mAh battery.

It will give richer Internet performance with multi-windows web browsing and flash support for smooth playback of video. Its specially intended tailor-made headsets deliver exceptional sound and DLNA for wirelessly streaming media to your TV or computer from the phone.



It is designed with instant capture BSI CMOS camera of 8MP with F2.2 28mm wide angle lens and 1.3 MP front camera. F2.2 28mm wide angle lens of camera is good for low-light performance, city skylines and broad vistas. It allows users to record a perfect moment with incredible stereo sound and dazzling clarity which is perfect for sharing it on Facebook, YouTube or a TV.

Beats headsets

This device allows users to make hands-free calls and get on-cable remote control of their music with the Beats headsets. Users can also send track information and music recommendations to friends over email, SMS or through their Facebook profile.

The Beats headsets, designed by rap musician Dr. Dre, are included in HTC Sensation to bring high-performance sound, with an investment of $300 million by HTC. iPhone of Apple has easy access to thousands of songs through iTunes, so this music-centric phone will battle against iPhone by its unique features. This device will combine streaming ability with wireless 3G or 4G connections and it will also allow the users for accessing to their own downloaded music. So the race is on for the competitors.

HTC Watch

HTC Sensation XL also provides an online video service “HTC Watch”. This service will provide entire library of latest premium TV shows and the movies right at your fingertips. This feature utilizes progressive download technology which allows you to watch videos without downloading of any huge file. The choice of buying or renting videos is offered by HTC Watch and if you purchase it, then you can watch it on up to 5 different HTC devices.


According to HTC, this Smartphone will be available across Asia Pacific and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) from early November.
