LG comes up with Android based tablet and Optimus Z Smartphone in Q4
If you thought that Apple is the only company that manufactures tablets and iPads that carry immense capabilities- then you need to think again! Our very own LG electronics is going to get into the iPad and tablet manufacturing business very soon to give competition to Apple and other big players of the world. The iPad is currently the strongest player and singlehandedly ruling the tablet business as there’s no other alternative out there capable to even remotely fight against Apple’s iPad. There are plenty of competitors, some already selling in stores and some still in the R&D department, but none of them is ready to successfully counter the iPad for now.
Since, Google first acquired the Android way back in 2005 the company has manufactured some of the most intelligent handheld devices in the business today. Now after 5 years the brand has become so famous that all the smartphones and now even tablet computers are being based on it. The first phone running the Android operating system is the Android Dream way back in 2008 and the Tablet to be launched by LG will be the first PC to do the same.

It is also notable that the South Korean conglomerate had introduced Microsoft Windows 7 based tablet PC at the Computex Taipei earlier in the year. The tablet had some powerful features and excellent looks and was named as the UX10. The WiFi-enabled tablet sported an Intel Atom processor, 10.1-LED touchscreen, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a front-facing webcam and HDMI out. Perhaps the newly announced Google Android powered tablet will feature similar specs.
Although, the details are scarce on the upcoming device, it is clear that LG – like Samsung and RIM (Blackberry) – is expanding its focus from smartphones and other mobile device to include tablets. LG will definitely have a hard time from the competition as Motorola, HTC and Samsung are all very important players that happen to rule the current Android world so we’re definitely be interested to see how this unnamed upcoming iPad contender and the new Optimus Z will fit in the current Android universe.
Well, though the specs are not all out as of now but it is believed that the device is definitely going to be a powerful one but it will be in your hands whether you will wait for Santa to come to give you the gift in December this year or you would go for the tablets being released before that like the Dell Streak.
