Motorola has launched an Android-powered desktop PC named CloudBB (HMC3260) for the Chinese market. This home entertainment device is launched with WASU Digital Group on 12th September in Beijing. It is the first Android cloud-based home entertainment device of the company. It is a mixture of HD digital TV and touch screen Tablet PC. It is particularly made for service providers that offer various interactive broadcast, video and OTT (Over-The-Top) services over HFC networks. It has a unique, simple to use and intuitive interface, so users can get a full converged broadband and TV experience.
Motorola CloudBB has sleek, simple but stylish design. It sports 18.5 inch LCD touch screen display with a resolution of 1366×768P, which allow users to access games, web browsing, digital TV, movies, applications and other on-demand services easily. It comes with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. It is powered by 1GHz RM Cortex A8 processor along with 1GB of RAM. The device is based on Google Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) operating system so users can access Google Play for downloading apps.
It is equipped with 4GB NAND flash memory and allows broadband internet access via EuroDOCSIS and LAN. Users can not only get a fast broadband connection with Motorola CloudBB, but also able to enjoy various WASU’s cloud-based services such as on-demand HD media, applications, games and storage space. The company has not revealed the pricing and availability info of the device. It has also not provided any information regarding the launch of CloudBB in the US.
