It was just recent that we had heard of the release of the Motorola Droid 2 on Verizon network. But now, and obviously not too far, we have come to know of the plans of Motorola about the Android operating system. The plans are the upcoming ones, and look quite appealing and attractive. To be more specific, the Android handset coming ahead from the abode of Motorola is the Motorola Droid Pro. Motorola DROID Pro is rumored to be another addition to the DROID line-up, the Pro will offer a 4 inch screen which is in between the 3.7 inches of the DROID and DROID 2 and the 4.3 inches offered by the DROID X. Expected this November, this global roaming capable device is expected to have a 1.3MHz processor under the hood.
The specs on the Verizon Motorola Droid are very impressive; we know that it will have the same shape as the CLIQ. The touch display hides a full QWERTY keyboard offering you the best of both. We already knew that the Droid would run on the Android 2.2 and a 550MHz processor. Connectivity comes in the way of Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, USB 2.0, GPS and Wi-Fi. Those are some pretty nice specs, especially the processing power.
The Motorola Droid 2 (WCDMA/GSM version: Motorola Milestone 2) is the fifth phone in the Droid line. In the US it is available exclusively on Verizon Wireless, and was released August 12, 2010 (pre-orders were available a day earlier).(pre-order sales of the device began August 11).It runs the Android operating system by Google, and is capable of running Flash Player 10.1.[3] It comes with 8GB of internal memory and is shipped with an additional 8GB SDHC card, upgradeable to 32GB. It has a 3.7″ display and a 5 megapixel camera.Unlike the Droid X, the Motorola Droid 2 features a redesigned physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but still features the Swype keyboard found on the Droid X. A limited edition version featuring Star Wars character R2-D2 and exclusive apps and content was announced by Verizon for September 30, 2010.
According to this report from BGR, the next flagship handset from Motorola will be the Droid Pro, and release date will be in this November – probably in the midst of Thanksgiving we’d say.
Flagship or no flagship the phone is carrying some excellent features and hence is definitely going to be one of the toughest competitions in the market. So, market beware.
