Motorola has officially announced a brand new RAZR smartphone called RAZR I at a press event held in the city of London. It is the first ever smartphone to have a 2.0GHz Atom Z2460 processor. The new RAZR I is in fact a variant of RAZR M that was launched in the month of August in New York, and as expected the RAZR I phone looks almost similar to the RAZR M model. The device will be made available in black as well as white color variants. Motorola has confirmed that the black variant will start shipping in October in selected European and Latin American markets including France, UK, Argentina, Germany, Brazil and Mexico. Plus, the device in white will also enter in few selected markets in coming months. Unfortunately, Motorola has not revealed anything about the price of the RAZR I smartphone yet.

Motorola claims that the RAZR I smartphone’s display is around 40% larger than that of the iPhone 4S. Plus, this new smartphone is said to have more screen per square inch than the iPhone 5 device. The RAZR I handset features an edge-to-edge display measuring 4.3 inch with nearly no border, but in reality there is a thin bezel around the border. It has adopted a tall form factor rather than wider frame, because of which the device easily fits in the palm of a user’s hand. It has been built with premium protective materials. The display is surrounded with a diamond cut aircraft-grade aluminium frame made up of Corning Gorilla Glass and this frame will protect the device from scratches and other types of damages.

The body is made up of DuPont Kevlar Strong material with splash proof coating. Moreover, it has both water and resistance certification. The display provides a maximum resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The powerful 2.0 GHz processor allows the users to enjoy smoother browsing and superior video performance on the device. Currently, it may come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and at the same time Motorola has assured that it will be upgraded to the latest Jelly Bean version by next year.

The RAZR I smartphone comes equipped with an 8MP rear camera that can capture high resolution images and 1080p full HD videos. Thanks to the processor, the camera starts up in less than one second and it comes with numerous features like Multi-Shot that enable the users to take 10 photos within a second. Plus, there is an illuminated sensor on the rear and HDR capabilities, which guarantees better images and videos even in low light conditions. The RAZR I also support NFC (Near Field Communication) technology with which you can send contact info, links or maps to other compatible phones using Android Beam wirelessly.

Another interesting thing about RAZR I phone is its long battery life. It is powered by a battery of capacity 2000mAh and the company claims that with this battery, the device will deliver around 40% more life when compared to other high-end handsets like iPhone 4S. In addition, the device allows the users to access almost all major Google services, including Google Play Store, Google Maps, Google+ social network and voice activation for various tasks like text messaging & directions. Above all, the phone comes with circles on the homescreen that displays certain important info in real-time like message alerts, battery and date.
