Mostly we see that the prevalent trend these days is that the phone will be accompanied by a good quality camera, which actually has become a necessity these days. But this phone features to be quite different from this trend. We can rather call it that the Lumix Phone is actually a camera, which is being accompanied by a cell phone. The reason for this is that the device is being accompanied by a huge 13.2 MP CMOS sensor and a 3.3-inch VGA LCD. These specifications are actually equivalent to a Panasonic compact digital camera. Thus, this shall actually put this device forward in the league of other contemporary smartphones.

The Panasonic Lumix Phone will be featured with digital zoom and even a mobile version of Panasonic’s VenusEngine image processing chip. The phone will enable users to share pictures over Wi-Fi and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) networks, according to the company. The Panasonic Lumix Phone is being accompanied by the dimensions 11.6 centimeters by 5.2cm by 1.8cm and a weight of approximately 146g. The device is to support Wi-Fi connectivity, microSD / microSDHC card.

Panasonic Lumix Phone Colors Options

It has been observed often that the major consumer electronics companies use camera and TV brand names on some high-end handsets. Following this track, Panasonic has used its Viera flat-panel TV brand name on some phones that feature advanced TV functions. Other similar operations by major companies include Sony and Sharp who have done the same with their Bravia and Aquos brands. Among camera makers, Casio has marketed Exilim-brand phones, and Sony has taken the Cybershot name to handsets. This is actually done by the company for the purpose of emphasizing the features related to the brand names they are extending. This can be explained in the light of Panasonic that the naming of the Lumix Phone coming with a 13-megapixel image sensor and image processing engine, shall actually signify that the device will definitely surpass other phones in photo quality.

We already know that Panasonic is a Japan based company. The availability of the Panasonic Lumix Phone is assumed to be restricted to only markets in Japan, and is quite unlikely that the device will be seen outside Japan, as because it has been observed that the company doesn’t sell its advanced models overseas.
