Here comes another groovy handset from the Abode of Samsung featuring the Bada platform, the Samsung Wave 575. The phone is accompanied by a nice blend of features and looks, and has now been formally announced by the company. The Samsung Wave 575 shall run on the Samsung Bada platform and, looking at the features, seems to be a nice buy, especially for those not fans of the Android platform.

Accompanied by an attractive 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen supporting 256K colors and a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, the Samsung Wave 575 is of the dimensions 109.5 x 55 x 11.9 mm and a weight of 100 g. the handset is accompanied by the Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate of the user interface, TouchWiz UI 3.0 and the Multi-touch zoom. The phone has also got the speakerphone facility and is coming with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
With the support for features as Photocall, the Samsung Wave 575 provides an internal memory of about 100 MB, and even supports Micro SD card, which can actually be expanded to up to 16 GB. The phone shall even support GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots) providing 32 – 48 kbps and EDGE Class 10 providing 236.8 kbps. With the possibility of 3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, the Samsung Wave 575 handset shall provide for the connectivity through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, with the provision for Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP. The handset supports connectivity through both 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G HSDPA 900 / 2100 networks.
In terms of multimedia features, the Samsung Wave 575 handset provides a camera which shall have 3.15 MP support and shall provide for an image resolution of up to 2048×1536 pixels. The feature of Geo-tagging is present. With the provision for video recording, the Samsung Wave 575 shall be functioning on the Bada operating system, which shall ply in compliance with the browser supporting WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML. The handset shall provide for Stereo FM radio with RDS, and even supports games which come both pre-installed and are downloadable.
The Samsung Wave575 is being available in a wide variety of hues and shades, and shall be accompanied by a Standard battery, Li-Ion 1200 mAh. Some other features of the Samsung Wave 575 handset include the support for Java MIDP 2.0, SNS integration with live updates, Music recognition, Organizer, Image editor, Voice memo, Predictive text input, MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player and MP4/H.263/H.264 player. The handset shall even provide for GPS with A-GPS capability.
As for the apps, the Samsung Wave 575, being Bada enabled, shall not support the Android market. But, the apps shall be available for download for free from the Samsung App Store. The Samsung Wave 575 handset is going to be released on the date in November 2010 in Sweden, but the information on the price tag of the handset is yet not revealed. Whether the handset becomes as popular as the Samsung Wave GT S8500, the first Bada platform device is yet to be seen. Till then, all we can do is anticipate.
