Sony Ericson has been more or less a recent joiners to the bandwagon of manufacturers of Android based smartphones the bandwagon now includes all the big names of electronic companies around the world. The CES 2012 was a great platform for the company to establish its name as one of the biggest Android phone manufacturers in the market, the company had already seen a lot of success with the its Xperia series of Android based smartphones and hence the company decided to stick to the same brand name to continue with its winning ways.

Sony has released two amazingly powerful, monster of an Android phone for their Xperia range. These are called the Sony Xperia iON and the Sony Xperia S. The device are super powerful, extra elegant and damn classy one of their kind in more ways than these devices are a must have for any Android lover aspiring to buy a powerful Android.
The two phones from the Xperia series are not much different from each other but they definitely [portray some notable differences, here we take a look at the differences in the devices we shall follow up with a comparison table of the specs to portray the differences even more clearly. The Xperia ION for one is the bigger of the two devices the ION bears a 4.55 inches well lit LCD capacitive touch screen with regards to the Xperia S which bears a 4.3 inches one. However, the Xperia S comes with up to ten fingers of multi touch where as the Ion bears only up to 4 fingers of the same. Both the devices come with the scratch resistant glass with Sony mobile Bravia Engine and the Timespace UI,
As far as the memory capabilities are concerned the Xperia S does not have any expandable memory while the ION comes with a card slot of holding a memory capacity of up to 32 GB. IT is notable that both the devices bear the same 1 GB of RAM. When it comes to the network the Xperia ION and its superiority over the Xperia S stand out while the ION is 4G capable the Xperia S is not and hence the massive difference in the speeds of the two. Both the devices are NFC capable and that will have to be a feature that a lot of us will be looking for.
AS far as the processor are concerned the both the devices have been provided with the same processors and the same versions of the operating system i.e the Android Gingerbread (Android v2.3), both the ION and Xperia S bear a 1.5 GHZ dual core Snapdragon processor that can make any smartphone owner go wild with its speed. Both the devices bear a 12 MP primary camera on the back and a 1.3 MP secondary camera In front. The Xperia S though has been provided with a slightly better battery which gives a standby time of 450 hrs as of 400 hrs on the Xperia ION.
