HTC has introduced three new series Android smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2012. All the phones are lined up in HTC one-series with names HTC One X, HTC One S as well as HTC One V. All the phones will be availed in several stores from the summer itself. Compared to One S, One X is more upgraded as it has 4.7-inch display and latest NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad core processor. One X and One S both have various shades, sizes and forms. Let us compare the style, features and performance of HTC One X and HTC One S.
Which phone has most-attractive design?
The initial thing we look upon is the outer appearance of the phone. The design of both One X and One S is pleasant. Both the models have unique designs but made from different materials. One X is made up of cool polycarbonate whereas One S is made up of metal. The weight of One X is 10 grams more than One S. However, One S is thinner than One X with 7.9mm thickness.
Which one has brighter screen?
The screen of One X is 4.7” with 720 x 1,280 resolution while One S has 4.3” screen with 540 x 960 resolution. Thus, the screen of One X is wider than One S. Different sizes of both the phones also varies the visual effects of them. Screen of One S is prepared from Corning Gorilla Glass. One X has 720p HD screen.
One X is equipped with NVIDIA’s 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad core processor whereas One S is featured with 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4. The US version of One X (a One XL) is powered by a twin core dual-core Qualcomm processor. It is because ATT craves to run it on a 4G LTE connectivity. Presently, Tegra 3 does not support 4G LTE.
Operating System of both One X and One S is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This OS increase the image shooting capacity of HTC One series. The image specifications as well as a newly induced camera of both One X and One S speed up due to Android 4.0 ICS.
HTC One X and One S have 8MP rear cameras with capacity of full 1080p video shooting. X and S have front-facing cameras of 1.3MP capable to shoot 720p video. The images and video shooting result of the cameras of X and S is equally efficient and well-executed. To capture a picture, it takes only 0.7 seconds and autofocus in 0.2 seconds. As well, the photos can be clicked in between video shooting. BSI sensor is inserted in both X and S to enhance the picture quality in low-light. The camera of X and S possess vital features like f/2.0 aperture, a 28mm lens, etc.
All the HTC One series phones have common connectivity features like HSUPA, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Bluetooth 4.0 but you may be amazed by knowing that One X has a bit lower version i.e. Bluetooth 3.0. X and S both have gyro feature. Both have a compass, proximity sensors and accelerometers. One X features an NFC chip, which is not possessed by One S. MicroUSB slot and 3.5mm audio jacks are also incorporated in both the models. Beats audio enrichment is supported by both X and S.
One X is integrated with the internal storage of 32GB while One S has 16GB of internal storage. One X and One S have same 1GB RAM, so the memory is not the subject of difference between both the devices.
Looking at the above mentioned features and specs, one can simply tell that the HTC One X and HTC One S can be deemed as high-end handsets. Hence, it is quite estimated that both smartphones would use a lot of power. In this case, HTC comes ready. The One X sports a standard 1800 mAh Li-Po battery whereas the One S has 1650 mAh battery.
Pricing & Availability
There is no official word from the company regarding the price and availability right now. It seems that HTC One X and HTC One S will be obtainable in second quarter of this year. When coming to price, it has been heard from leaks that One X will be sold for $780 whereas the slimmer handset will be sold for $672. In terms of price, there is very light difference in both the phones.
