How it works?
The robotic platform is made to allow user to take a photograph. Then it will take photos from different angles and position to make a large photo sequence. Computer software crops and stitch all the photographs to form a single Giga Pixel photograph.
Gigapan.org hosts all these photographs, anyone can upload photographs to it, and anyone can place comments on them.
You can use almost any consumer(compact point and shoot) camera. For better result DSLR can be used. Gigapan’s motor move camera left to right for horizontal shots and up to down for vertical shots. Robotic finger presses shutter button.
