It is so sad to know that the expected number of tigers in India is continuously decreasing. According to the recent survey carried out in India, it is noted that there is a sharp decline in their population to 1,411. It is major cause is poaching for tiger fur, bones and other tiger products and loss of their natural habitat due to climate change and human activities like logging, farming and encroachment of forests.

At start of this century there were around one lakh tigers including 40,000 tigers in India in the whole world. Boost in population has lead people to struggle for finding place to live, that resulted in vanishing forest area and hence decrement in number of these wild animals. Hunting wild animals was considered as a sport activity and royal hobby of ‘Maharajas’ in early days of India. This has also been a reason for why india’s national animal is fighting for its life! Govt. of India also started Project Tiger scheme in 1973 to ensure a viable population of tiger in India.

To help “Save Our Tigers”, Aircel has partnered with WWF-India. The task of WWF is to prevent the humiliation of the planet’s natural environment and to build future in which humans live in accord with nature. Major population losses & extinction are being faced by Tigers. For sport, skins & body parts, Tigers are murdered. 3,500 tigers around the world and from them 1,400 are found from India According to the World Wildlife Fund.

You can also assist in “Save Our Tigers” by speaking up about the reason, blogging about tigers. Money can be also donated by you to NGOs working for the cause, like WWF-India at http://www.wwfindia.org/help/donate/.

Our future generation may well put Tigers besides Dinosaurs’ and know about them as extinguish animals, If we at-least don’t take steps now. If you want to show your concern on tigers practically, then head over here to make a mark.

I love tigers not because they are beautiful but for their nature . I have to say our Indians that they should respect the animals not worshiping but showing some kindness to them by not killing them .If the attitudes of the people continues in the same way in future we have to see these kind of animals only in pictures, so please dont harm them and kill them save , if we can not produce something let us not at least destroy them . thank u.

according to add there is only 1411 tigers but recently3 had died so there is only 1408.

To save them it is necessary to consider them as own child and we never kill our child.

Good DOCTOR and SCIENTIST will be alloted for them to increase the population.

And the servent will be strictly seen or i say they will be punished.

3 tigers when died in which 1 is killed by the villagers bcoz it entered in the village.

    1 is find died.

    same as other.

There should be a stringent law against poacher’s ,wherein minimum punishment would be death sentence …Forest guards should be provided with autonomy to fire at unauthorized intruders and poachers at will…only these could be effective..
