It is so sad to know that the expected number of tigers in India is continuously decreasing. According to the recent survey carried out in India, it is noted that there is a sharp decline in their population to 1,411. It is major cause is poaching for tiger fur, bones and other tiger products and loss of their natural habitat due to climate change and human activities like logging, farming and encroachment of forests.
At start of this century there were around one lakh tigers including 40,000 tigers in India in the whole world. Boost in population has lead people to struggle for finding place to live, that resulted in vanishing forest area and hence decrement in number of these wild animals. Hunting wild animals was considered as a sport activity and royal hobby of ‘Maharajas’ in early days of India. This has also been a reason for why india’s national animal is fighting for its life! Govt. of India also started Project Tiger scheme in 1973 to ensure a viable population of tiger in India.
To help “Save Our Tigers”, Aircel has partnered with WWF-India. The task of WWF is to prevent the humiliation of the planet’s natural environment and to build future in which humans live in accord with nature. Major population losses & extinction are being faced by Tigers. For sport, skins & body parts, Tigers are murdered. 3,500 tigers around the world and from them 1,400 are found from India According to the World Wildlife Fund.

It’s really a very honest and good but late initiative taken by Aircell to save our ecosystem.
I think we must have to spread this slogan over the rural forests’ areas also.
We have to make those villagers who are living in the forest or nearer to the forest, acquainted with the huge losses of our national animal.
Better Late than ‘NEVER’ is what I feel. Also, like Somnath has said, the villagers and people dealing with the Tiger on a daily encounter need to be educated about them and their importance to the eco system.
It is really shocking to hear that our national animal survive for his life. it is just because of us. we want to develope our country, that’s why we are destroy forest in large number.Every one knows forest is the home of our animal so why we are destroy there home, if someone destroy our home what should we do i think we kill them, but they don’t do it because they are not like us.they know when they need to eat then they kill other animal. This is the situation when Tiger is given the status of National Animal and a lavish program run by the Govt. of India to protect this animal . A huge sum is being spent on the project but like many other govt. this one is also going down the drain.
The basic fact is that the Govt. & its machinery and the employees entrusted to look after the tigers, are either not interested or are in league with the poachers.
Our law, in any case is blind.
To start with, the Govt. must amend law to see that killing of Tigers is treated as a murder and punishment should be same what is applicable to human being. A separate court should be instituted for this which must award punishment within 2-3 months
Forest guards should be selected on merit who love animals & should be provided proper weapons, vehicle & force to counter such poachers without fear. Currupt officials caught & thrown to the Tigers to deal with.

i have seen the condition of our tigers in national park of banglore …its deplorable …they are locked up in the cages where they cant even move around …the condition of the tigers living also needsequal attention .The advertisements are only mentioning the cause but no solution . i feel completely helpless as i see promises to join the drive but no giudelines given to actually save them and improve the condition . Man has always earned through exploitation of others. This is an age old habbit looked as lucrative. The punishment for Tiger poaching shoulkd be ‘life for life’. Unless and until one is not scared for ones own life, he/she will never understand the loss of another’s life. Not understand the magnitude of fright when an animal stands strong, magestic fierce and still looses. A law that tries the killing of the ‘Black Buck’ and is backed up by media till the offender is punished works as that animal is ’sacred’. Goddess Kali rides a Tiger, at the same time, Lord Shiva wears clothing of Tiger skin. But lets not forget, all of this is man made. If the punishment is ‘kill for kill’ where the Tiger is concerned, only then will this exploitation slow down. Breeding of Tigers by sanctuaries etc should be handsomely rewarded. Thats when man will see a positive side of ‘earning from the Tiger’. No better feeling than that of giving life a chance.

It is so sad to know that the expected number of tigers in India is going decreased. According to the recent survey of India it is noted that a sharp decline in their population to 1,411, it is mainly because of poaching for tiger fur, bones and other tiger products and loss of their natural habitat due to climate changing and human activities like logging, farming and encroachment of forests.
The whole world has around one lakh tigers with India only having 40,000 Tigers in the wild at the start of this century. Boost in population meant that people would struggle for place to live against the wild and therefore, the decrease in the number. Keeping away the reality that for the ‘Maharajas’, hunting wild animals used to be a sport.
To help “Save Our Tigers”, Aircel has partnered with WWF-India. The task of WWF is to prevent the humiliation of the planet’s natural environment and to build future in which humans live in accord with nature. Major population losses & extinction are being faced by Tigers. For sport, skins & body parts, Tigers are murdered. 3,500 tigers around the world and from them 1,400 are found from India According to the World Wildlife Fund.
You can also assist in “Save Our Tigers” by speaking up about the reason, blogging about tigers. Money can be also donated by you to NGOs working for the cause, like WWF-India at http://www.wwfindia.org/help/donate/.

Lets change the national animal to dog. Dog survives in city streets and are many in number. We can cut all forests and make homes for humans, lot of benefits. we cant afford to have one more animal to be extinct due to our negligence. 1st I request the govt. to be strict on the hunters , the people who are hunted our wild animals are definitely given death penalty.Govt. should take strong action and death penalty given to Sansarchand . Use new technology in our forests to locate the tigers and other animal and provide research on the tigers . Encourage our youth to do their research in forest and the main thing is to give awarness to the village situated near the tiger sanctury , advise them how important the forest and the animals for the ecosystem . It may sound funny but give every villager one dog so that the dog guard the villager and their cattle and in the mean time tigers are also get benifitted by getting sympathy from the local .

today when i swa on tv channel that only 1414 tigers are alive in india i was really shoked.our country with so many jungles and so much man power in the form of forests officer and others we are somewhere innattentive about killing of tigers .in most of jungles they are hunted as a part of recreation .and to show that humanbeing can even win with wild life but what the use of that,why we should enter there wild life,they are living life as thealmighty God has offered to them.Govt of india should do it best efforts in the form of implementing very strict rules ,enstrengthening the available man power to protect them,and preventing the leveling down of forests ,making efforts to rais there no.by modern biological fertilization tech.
Tiger was chosen as the National animal of India due to its grace, strength, agility and enormous power. As the tiger is also considered as the king of Jungle, it was an obvious choice for the National Animal category. Since time immemorial, the tiger has been considered as a Royal Animal. Often, The Tiger as the National Animal of India symbolizes the power, strength, elegance, alertness, intelligence and endurance of the nation. But now the population of the tiger in our nation has reduced to 1411.I please the INDIAN Government to take actions against Deforestation and to prevent out National animal.

It will be a shame on us if we cannot preserve the tigers because they are a part of our national heritage & the vital chain of the delicate ecosystem, losing them means breaking a link in the ecosystem chain which will lead to a complete imbalance. The nature’s grunt will ultimately come to us, so if we cannot save our tigers we will not be able to save ourselves in near future. I’m very happy & proud of the efforts put in by Aircel & WWF. Education & a watchful eye on poaching can help in this mission. i love wild animals and want to save our tigers we can do it by many things…
we have to tag them with transmitter and note the locations of each tiger time to time.
If the transmitter shows the location out of his last located areas by this we can catch the hunters.
also we can collect donations to stop the hunters.
AND ANOTHER THING IS WE CAN INCREASE THE FOOD OF THE TIGERS WE CAN DO IT BY RELEASING COWS AND GOATS. WE CAN do it by cattle raring by this we can increase there hunt.

This has risen to the fact that now only 1400 or so tigers are left My Great Grandfather had himself fought a tiger but probably when this will be told to my great grandson he may ask what is a tiger ? no one allowed to enter the park with any weapon. Checking should be like the same as we get at Airports to get rid of the Terrorist. There should be a stringent law against poacher’s ,wherein minimum punishment would be death sentence …Forest guards should be provided with autonomy to fire at unauthorized intruders and poachers at will…only these could be effective..

the greediest person on the earth are the Government Servent, Govt. Servent in forest Dept. are forest ragner, DFO ect., for all the killings they are aware & responsible, without them killing tiger is impossible, so to stop killings of tiger, kill these bleody guys, or do the siezures of there property which they had earned.

Our TIGERS have chances of survival, ONLY if the Government desires. Common people can contribute funds but until the Government machinery gets involved with 100% dedication we will be left with snaps and videos of the TIGER. Support from the Government is required :
1. Equip the Forest Officials with latest technology,
2. The ground troops of the Forest Department should be paid at par with armed forces
3. Recruitment of professionals in the Forest Department
4. Eagles eye on the poachers with technology support
5. Fencing of boundaries
6. Rehabilitation of population staying in and round the tiger reserves
7. National parks to welcome visitors for only 60 days in a year. 30 days for Indian natioanals and 30 days for foreign nationals
8. Environment friendly habitat for workers and visitors
9. Proper road link connectivity within the forest posts for quick movement
10. Choppers to drop forces to combat wood mafia
11. Strict rules and fast track courts dealing with forest cases only
12. Educate the rural population staying in and around the National Parks
13. Imprisonment for 50 years to poachers, during the imprisonment period he will work under a VET Doctor

As a citizens of this country everyone have the responsibility to protect our own nation.Being the national animal of our own nation ,it is a shame for every indian to say that now we have only 1141 tigers are in india. As an indian citizen ,to protect my own national animal ,iam going to get the license to adopt to grow up the tiger in my house . since i know very little about getting the license legally for tigers upbringing. Personally i like tiger very much.I am crazy about the tigers so the forth coming months iam going to earn as a result my one third of the salary will go to the tiger’s welfare.if possible please send me the details about the legal policies.and iam warning those who hunt the animals just for their profits should not be given any punishment rather their rights as citizen should be snatched.

It is very important to save our tigers as it is our national animal.But aircel has started the campaign too late .It is good that some one started it and strict action should be taken to stop hunting all animals and birds as they too have right to live .!! More wildlife santuaries should be established to save aircel should also protest against the hunters .When I went to Kanha Kisli I could hardly see two tigers as they also have fear of hunters and they also have a family like us.

The tigers are powerful symbol of reverence which commands respect, awe or fear from their human neighbours. they live in myth and legend. We Indians are alike, therefore we should prove our concern towards them, that we are protecting from the hunters.they should survive in our land so that our offsprings should know the improtance of them.

We should enact a law to punish persons who are involved in poaching our Animals and men who assisst them. Any shop owner selling tiger skin and tooth should also be booked under the law and punished. It should not be fine them and let them free,because the amount they pay is much less what they earn by poaching.WHY DEATH sentence for killing only a human being? Tiger is my favorite animal and i can’t believe that only 1411 tigers are left in India. Its very shameful for us that we, humans are the only reason for tiger’s death. Tigers have the same right to leave on earth as we human have, we have no right to invade into their homes. India need to make tough laws to protect tigers. But most important is that, we need to provide the financial and other required resources to protect them. I personally recommend capital punishment for those killing and smuggling parts of the tigers.

Tiger Is the national animal of INDIA and no doubt we are proud of it. But it shamefull on our part that only1411 tigers are left. Govt must take action to stop the hunting of tigers or else this big cats will disappear from the jungles of india . Tigers loves to hunt and live alone.They dont live in groups like other big cats . Thanks to aircel for generating awreness among the common people and for taking the initiative. If no steps will be taken soon than tigers will be left only in books and t.v. for our coming generations. So SAVE TIGERS and help them to survive.
i love tigers and i am just 10 years old and i have a mother and father but some of the baby tigers don’t and tigers will be just like fireflies,just after the baby ones born the next day the mother will die but if only tigers and human beings can be friends.i would want to tell all the peaple

If a note of 1000 Rs is lying on a road, how many of us Indians not steal/ lift it; and how many of us will try to return it to the owner? That is the question in exact parallel to the save tiger campaign. May look odd/ shameful/ unacceptable etc., but the fact is that even if 1 lakh people (out of 125 crores) are such as to lift the 1000 Rs note for the purpose not returning to the owner, there is very bleak future for the tigers. After all, if a prize of more than 1 lac (that’s the least of cost of tiger remains) or just for the sake of pride of having tiger claws/ paws etc., many of us Indians for whom the money (not where it has come from) is most important, would not mind killing a tiger or equally worse turning a blind eye to tiger getting killed.

Let us use this time and opportunity to save these majestic creatures with whom we share this planet; though most of our species (humans) feel that we own the planet and everything on it.
Optionally, we can all sit quiet and keep blogging for a few days till the spirit dies down like the tiger in a few years and prepare ourselves for celebrations on renaming of our national animal as the domestic pussy CAT -(though not native to India).

as if the government tries it can be possible that we would hear the roar of the tigers in the jungle (the place to which they really belong.) Obviously it is our utmost duty to raise our voice for saving the TIGER on the behalf of maintaining natural equlibrium and to balance the ecosystem as well. To sustain the viability of this big cat family, the government-established laws and rules ofcourse can retrograde its vulnerability but can not keep the apprehension at bay of being extinct unless we feel for it from our heart. I am sure, if on this very moment we do not care to uphold protest against brutal poaching of this big cat, in a near future it can not shun its total extinction. Hey I’m 7 yrs young & still when I saw this campaign I was shocked to know tha t our national animal is in danger.We must not allow them to die unnaturally. THEY ARE SO CUTE. Try giving funds to zoos and in forest funds also in some places adoption of animals are there so we should come forward and do the needful as much as we can. I have full support for the campaign. BUT WHAT IS THE PLAN OF ACTION FROM THIS CAMPAIGN? I have seen a program in national geographic on rehabilitating tiger cubs to the forests. The biologist who worked on this project adopted 2 cubs, taught them to hunt and let the tiger cubs in the wild. The aircel campaign should lay stress on this kind of action, bring the biologists and carry out this action. Funding can be brought from cash rich organizations like the BCCI, IPL and government. Stricter laws for poaching and rehabilitation for the poachers who do it for lesser sums of money should be brought to practice.

As we all know that Tigers are our National Animal and its populaions is slowly coming down in INDIA due to natural calamite and some other reasons. If this continues to be same the we can only show our national animal pictures in books to our future generation.
There can be many possible ways to save Tigers from slowing down its populations but I have some of the few opinions to save them. One is that as we all know that Forests are the only home land for the animals to move freely for them but today even these lands are getting occupied for the public environment. We have to take a strong initiate to not to occupie these lands and let them free for the animals and also govt have to take some strong decision to implement it.
And Second is that i think most of us loves pet animals. Some of them like to adopt dogs, some to have cats, and some may like birds as a passion. But there can be people who can also love the big cats like Tiger, and some may love to have deers to grow at their homes and we all know that the big cats are being adopted by the foreigners which are shown in NGC, Discovery and and also in Animal Planet Channels. They adopt there animals, make them grow to a certain period and then they leave them in the forest area. The same thing can also be adopt in India too. I mean people who loves big animals can actually adopt them and make them grow with all the instructions to be followed and then leave them in jungle areas. And our Indian Govt. have to give permission for them.

really appreciate this initiative by aircel .for past couple of years ever since i came to know about the extinction this lovely creature i was wandering why there has been no concrete plan been worked out to save our national animal .But better late than never our citizens are becoming aware about the importance of rehablitation for this beautiful creature, because right from the beginning this tiger has always been a hunted for supremacy among kings its was really shameful
of killing someone like tiger for pleasure .
i just hate hate those illpractice if possible i could even blow those who did them . moreover in present time i think the punishment for convicted should be not less than death penality ,

recent stories of killing tiger who fled from dudhwa national park lakhimpur UP was a example of human intervention in their territory and also lack of untrained forest officer who without been aware of tigers maneater information killed mercilessly must be severely penalised

I am happy that so many people have concern for saving our tigers. As time is running out, we need to do things in war-footing. Voicing is important but acting is more important. Many people might think, what we can do or sitting in cities how we can protect our tigers. Many things can be, in fact be done if only we have a will. We can suggest measures to government and make them enact rules and measures.

This is the situation when Tiger is given the status of National Animal and a lavish program run by the Govt. of India to protect this animal . A huge sum is being spent on the project but like many other govt. this one is also going down the drain.
The basic fact is that the Govt. & its machinery and the employees entrusted to look after the tigers, are either not interested or are in league with the poachers.
Our law, in any case is blind.
To start with, the Govt. must amend law to see that killing of Tigers is treated as a murder and punishment should be same what is applicable to human being. A separate court should be instituted for this which must award punishment within 2-3 months
Forest guards should be selected on merit who love animals & should be provided proper weapons, vehicle & force to counter such poachers without fear. Currupt officials caught & thrown to the Tigers to deal with.
as i think it is not neccessry to love animals to save them.
but we have to be serious b’coz they r the part of our nature and they play a very useful role to continue the cycle of life.tigers are dangerous ….but less than human. as we have right to live our life without any interrutipn and freely.. animals have same right. let us consider about them and all the anmals who is at the verge of lost their identity from their own planet……

We are already very late but I believe that its better late than never. Hence our country is suffering such piculiar incidence!! Along with the government the commoners like us have to be conserned.. We will try our best to convey this message to the citizens. Our work will be to convince the rustic people of the system to check their way of living.
To do this we also need a lot of awareness of the population along with the government to try to make those illeterate & rustic fellows be a bit careful about our national heritage.. Now-a-days lot of media is involved in promoting films,along with this a lot of awareness programmes and reality shows should be telecasted to make people more aware and concern about the ‘SAVE OUR TIGERS’ phenomena.

Hence our country is suffering such piculiar incidence!! Along with the government the commoners like us have to be conserned.. We will try our best to convey this message to the citizens. Our work will be to convince the rustic people of the system to check their way of living.
To do this we also need a lot of awareness of the population along with the government to try to make those illeterate & rustic fellows be a bit careful about our national heritage.. Now-a-days lot of media is involved in promoting films,along with this a lot of awareness programmes and reality shows should be telecasted to make people more aware and concern about the ‘SAVE OUR TIGERS’ phenomena.
Through this I am very much sure that we will be able to find some solution about this problem……………..

Dear Friends, AM VERY THANKFUL TO “AIRCEL” THAT THEY TOOK THE BRILIANT STEP. WE ARE PROUD OF TIGERS,please save our tigers they are our national animal.LOVE THE BIG CATS .BE A PART OF THEIR FAMILY. AT THIS TIME THEY NEED US.SO WHY WE ARE NOT HELPING THEM .HELP THEM.I fill proud for AIRCEL and the cricket stars, I would like to submit my comments for public.
I have seen the tigers a live in forest.
My son have seen those in the circus, he may have chance to seen them alive in forest and would like to extend the chances for my grand son also.It is very sad to see whats happening these days. How cruel man has became!For short term greed he is killing one of the beauty of nature.Why do we have to kill tigers?They have also got right to live and to see this beautiful world.So we have to save them from being killed.Yes we must do everything that we can do to save tigers.We cannot afford to lose them.They are our national animals so for our nation and also for ourselves we have to save them. Even a small step taken by us will help not only to save tigers but also other wildlife. So let us join together and come forward to save this beautiful creation of god ,which we are very proud of………….we should hang them who are killing inocent tigers!!

I really shocked to know the total of our National animal.
It is a very good step to save our National Animal Tiger so very big thanks to Aircel i am very glad i am one of the customer of Aircel.Govt must take action against the tiger killers , and Govt will take step to save our National animal Tiger.then only we can save our tiger otherwise we not able to see the animal.in future our next generation kids know about the tiger in photographs.

only 1,411 Tigers in our country!!!!! there’s no time to waste! we should not depend on other, it depend on every citizen of our country to save our Tigers. So come lets together find the way to save our Tigers, before they become EXTINCT.
