Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the new Alto with BSIV engine and also made some change to both interior and exterior. Maruti Suzuki is one of the India’s largest car makers, has good news for their customers. Maruti has launched BS 4 variant of their highest selling car, Alto. To launch a stripped down version of its largest selling car, Alto, which will have a new 1.0 L K-Series engine, Maruti feels that now is the best time to put a car in the market.
The New Maruti Suzuki BS4 Alto has 796cc FC MPFI engine with an advanced 32 bit microprocessor controller and 4 valves per cylinder. The 3 cylinder motor coupled to the 5-speed manual synchromesh gearbox churns out 47 PS @ 6200rpm and 62Nm torques @ 3000 rpm. The segment leading mileage of 19.73 Kmpl is provided by the car and certified by ARAI. The seats are also new. The front seats of the car getting incorporated headrests and a new seat fabric to make the cabin feel more airy and up market.
The system of Maruti’s i-CATS (Intellgent Computerized Anti-Theft System) is also updated in the car which prevents car to be started from any duplicate key. That means, you cannot start your car without original keys which are provided by the company. To reduce its stopping distance, the brakes have also been given a booster assist. For extra safety, the car also has tubeless radials and a collapsible steering column. The dashboard of the car comes with a two tone look and a new speedometer with digital fuel indicator.
Maruti has overhauled its one of the mega selling small car, Alto. The price of the new Alto BS4 is same as old Alto variants. The car sells 20,000 units in a month and the numbers will be going upwards because it comes with a cheaper version. Some of the executives have given their view about New Maruti Suzuki BS4 Alto 2010. Maruti Chairman, RC Bhargava said: “The Alto will not be much more expensive than the 800 and we will keep trying to do whatever we can to make it more and more affordable.” He added, “The car will be in showrooms in the next couple of months but don’t expect major changes in design. The company doesn’t want to change the design of its highly successful car model and its not just Alto, Maruti is planning to refresh its entire car line up a new Wagon R which is also expected before end of April”.
According I.V. Rao, managing executive officer (engineering), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said “We are well on our way to producing over a crore cars by the end of this financial year,” Mayank Pareek, Maruti Suzuki’s executive officer, marketing and sales expressed, “The industry is on the verge of attaining the critical mass, which is required for the jump to the next level. Looking at the demographics, we will far exceed the 3million sales figure projected for 2015. My bet is that industry sales could be as high as 4.55-4.6 million units“.Pareek later added “At that level, market share loses meaning. Our aim is to be in a dominant leadership position. We will predominantly remain a small car market despite all the theories of market graduating from small to big cars. At the end of the day, the Indian consumer will always look for value for money.”

Hello sir, I have been waiting since last 3months for buying an ALTO..waiting for both CNG and KSERIES eng of MARUTI ALTO. please suggest me dealership location to but this new alto 2010 Vxi model.
Maruti Suzuki is already India’s largest selling car maker. But it has never stopped aiming for more.
I have always been fond of small cars. The reason for this is quite straightforward. When you reside in a country like India where the roads are narrow, potholes are in abundance, parking spaces
Maruti wouldn’t bother to do anything more than a minor facelift right now. The ‘real’ all-new alto being stated for launch sometime next year.
I think this facelift is just so that they can be really positively absolutely sure the 1.0L K-series sells. They have a hee-uuge capacity to produce this engine and the present sales of new wagonR-Astar-estilo may not be justifying it completely.
