Paris Dakar Rally 2010 is off-road automobile race, planned by the Amaury Sport Organization. It is an annual rally raid. Due to safety intimidation in Mauritania, the 2008 and 2009 Dakar Rally was run in South America (Argentina and Chile). Dakan Rally is taking place in South America in 2010. First time the race happened outside of Africa and Europe. This race is open to amateur and professional entries. Amateurs are classically made up of about 80 percent of the participants. The terrain is tougher for the competitors to cross. In the rally-raid participants are using off-road vehicles rather than the modified vehicles. This competition includes special sections such as off-road, crossing dunes, mud, camel grass, rocks and erg among competitors. The distances of each stage is differ from short distances up to 800–900 km (500–560 mi) for each day.
History of Paris Dakan Rally:
The adventure was started back in 1977. During the Abidjan-Nice Rally, Thierry Sabine had lost with his motorbike in the Libyan Desert. He returned to France still in thrall to this landscape after being saved from the sands in extremis. He promised himself that he would share his charm with as possible as more people. He proceeded to arise with a route starting in Europe, ongoing to Algiers and cross Agadez and finally finishing at Dakar.
He coined a motto for his motivation “A challenge for those who go a dream for those who stay behind.” Civility of his great certainty quickly became a reality. Paris-Dakar a unique event spark by the spirit of adventure opens for all riders and brings a message of friendship between all riders. This adventure has never unsuccessful to surprise, excite and challenge. More than 30 years it has created countless sporting and human stories.
