The parent company of PC World and Currys, Dixons Retail, has now made the announcements of two new and innovative tablet computers, which have been called the Advent Vega and the Advent Amico. Both are of the budget tablet genre, and are sure to draw in attention from the masses, looking at the technical specifications and looks of the devices. Moreover, both being Android powered devices they are even going to draw the huge numbers of Android lovers on the go.

Some of the technical specifications of the Advent Vega tablet include Processor Nvidia T20 Tergra 2 of model number T20 and speed of 1GHz. The Memory size is of 512MB of type SLC, with the NAND Flash Capacity of 512MB. The device shall support SD Card of 4GB, and is to be accompanied by a Screen size 10.1 inch, with the provision for Maximum Screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and the screen itself being LED widescreen. The type of graphics supported by the device is T20, which is even the model of the graphics card. The device is not provided with any integrated graphics memory, neither the dedicated graphics memory however.
The Advent Vega tablet is also going to support wireless connectivity, with the support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/ g, with modem or Ethernet not applicable. The device does not support TV Tuner, or TV Out, but is provided with an audio interface of I2S, with the possible no. of USB connections being 1. With the provision for Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, the Advent Vega tablet is coming with Memory card Reader of type Micro SD card, and a webcam. The resolution of the webcam is 1.3M, and the touch screen technology is Projective Capacitive. The device even supports multi-touch with 4 fingers, and even there is a built-in 3G broadband SIM card slot.
The battery type of the Advent Vega is Li-Polymer, with the number of battery cells being 2. The battery life can be best described as music play with LCD off up to 16 hours, video play 1080p up to 6.5 hours and a standby time of up to 4 days. As we have already said, the device will be supporting the Android 2.2 OS, with the Realtek sound card. The tablet is of height 13.6mm, width 275mm, depth 178mm and a weight 700 to 750g. The device is only available in black.
