Three of the best iPhone Apps for Runners :
Running is probably one exercise that all of us have done in our lives some time or the other, and there is no harm in that, too. But if you are carrying your iPhone in your pockets and not utilizing the millions of awesome running apps that Apple app store offers then you definitely not doing justice to the impact that technology needs to have on the human race. There is a large number of both paid as well as free apps for giving you your exercise details like speed, distance and calories burnt. Here is a list of three best iPhone apps for running, which we found out to be the best in features:
1. Runkeeper Pro :
This one is probably the costliest of the collection and we have a very firm opinion that this one is well worth the money. RunKeeper Pro App is highly accurate, very easy to use, quick view of my essential running details (time, distance, pace and calories) at a glance. The app includes several customizable running workouts, and it can also shuffle songs from your iPod playlist.

My only complaint is that you have to switch the input type under settings from ‘GPS’ to ‘manual entry’ every time you want to add a run manually — it seems there should be a faster and easier way to do this. This app is available at the Apple app store for a costly $9.99 price-tag if this sounds too costly to you then there are other alternatives available as well ( and if you do not get one good enough in the iTunes app store there is always Cyndia app store to look in).
2. 321 Run :
This one carries of the best interfaces that any running app can have. The best feature that I liked about the app is its coach feature which allows you to train with music in your ears and training tips from the apps voice interface which indeed guides you in your way and tracks the amount of calories that you have lost, distance already covered etc.

You can choose to set yourself a goal based on the distance to run, the time to run or the energy to burn. Your coach will then tell you each time you reach a step what you’ve already done, and what’s left. The 321 run app comes in three different flavours the 321 lite, 321 free and the 321run. 321Run Lite is a free application that allows you to listen to the same training plans as 321Run. But the GPS track and position is not recorded, so you don’t have the distance, speed. You don’t have the map. Still, 321Run Lite works on both the iPhone and the iPod Touch. 321Run Lite is free. 321 Run Free is a free version of 321Run, without the history, without the export and with less trainings while the 321Run is the full, premium version.
3. iMapmyrun :

This app is available for still better $4.99 and carries almost all the other features that the other iPhone apps give you except that it does not have the voice interface that will guide you while listening to music. However you can still shuffle your songs on the interface. I even found a requirement to increase the size of the font of the app but that of course is not possible.
So, there you go, more options in the runners apps division now forget about the Nike running gear that you used to hang in your neck while out for a run. Get your iPhone in and add technology to your exercise.
