Blackberry is on the move again- after recently launching the Blackberry Torch handset the Blackberry people have not sat back and relaxed they have been on their toes and got ready with the Blackberry Bold R020 the details of which have been recently leaked on the internet. The device comes with the label of Bold R020 and will be the successor to the Bold 9700. Sounds like good news, a new Bold to look forward to. To compare the two of the Blackberry’s recent versions we can very clearly decipher that the new device will be running on the newest version of Blackberry OS that is the Blackberry OS 6 which in my mind will do justice to the hardware that has been provided.
But perhaps a little more important, the Bold R020 is more of a simple refresh than a new device. That said, the few changes that are mentioned do seem nice, albeit one of which seems like a given. But in the features front the newest member of the Bold family will be ahead that than the Bold 9700.the phone shall carry a five megapixel which of course is better than the 9700. The phone will even be having a 512Mb of user memory that which indeed is double the size of that available in the Bold 9700.
The phone will be having the shiny exteriors with really not that slim dimensions of 109 x 60 x 14.1mm which is not slim by stretch of imagination (but that we can say is Blackberry’s forte!). The phone features a 2.4’’ TFT screen that has the resolutions of 480 x 360 pixels. Interestingly the phone will also be available in a white colour version also the Black and Charcoal colored phones can be got with or without the camera but the white phone shall be having the camera in any case. So, for all those who have been disheartened with Apple’s announcement of ‘no white phone sometime soon’, here is some good news for you.
Exterior styling comes in the form of “charcoal rails” and a leather accent on the battery door. All the familiar pre-loaded BlackBerry applications are available on the Bold 9700, including but not limited to: WordToGo, PowerPointToGo, BrickBreaker and WordMole. The Bold 9700 also offers BlackBerry Messenger 4.7 but is upgradable to 5.0 in the BlackBerry App World. Lastly, as with other BlackBerry models, there will be a second version of the Bold R020 available that ships without the camera. And to further the specs for the camera on the R020, aside from being 5 megapixel it will also have an LED flash, 2x digital zoom and autofocus.
So, there you have it Blackberrians you have now got another Bold to show off. Check out the leaked specs in the photos and do let us know what do you feel is the best in this version and how in your views is this one better than the two previous ones (leaving the OS upgrade of course) in the comments section below.
