Mozilla Firefox comes of age introduces the Firefox 4 beta
Mozilla Firefox has introduced the version four of its web browser – ‘Firefox 4 beta 1‘ which it claims to be studded with features that are capable of beating the best in the business. It is notable that the fastest browser at one time Firefox has faced a lot of competition and currently stands at the fifth place in browser ratings. So, this move by the company can be considered as a try to recapture the market. The company has been struggling to match up with the big players like Opera, Safari and Chrome has seen a tremendous loss in popularity.

As all of us know the browser is an open source and is shipped with the source code- so all of its users contribute to its development and the updates always better the previous version. Firefox includes a dozen of major features and improvements here is a review of the best of those features. The newest version of the web browser features the newest user interface the Beta 1 this makes the browsing experience and has been made more streamlined. The user interface still remains fully customizable and you can switch the locations of tabs, whether or not a menu bar, bookmark bar or status bar is visible.

The add-ons manager is new and redefined and gives you ample support to choose the add-on that will help you better your browsing experience. The Firefox has been a pioneer in HTML5 video standards Firefox also supports the WebMD format so you can also watch open HD quality video. If you had shifted from the browser as it had some flaws in its privacy standards that let hackers to view your browsing history then those flaws have been done away with.
Another problem with the previous version was the frequency of crashes the browser crashed every now and then and then had to reestablish to the same point. But the Mozilla team has finally thought that it would be better if the browser does not crash at all eliminating the need for reestablishment.
Firefox provides uninterrupted browsing for Windows, Linux, and now Mac when there is a crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins. If one of these commonly-used plugins crashes or freezes, it won’t affect the rest of Firefox. Instead, you can simply reload the page to restart the plugin and try again. Besides these the browser has also turned to support real time web- sockets using which real time web interactions like chatting and online gaming can be done. And if that’s not all- Firefox 4 Beta comes with the Feedback Add-on which adds a button in the upper right corner. You can use this to provide instant feedback at any time. You will also be notified about user studies (run by Mozilla Test Pilot) which collect information about how you use Firefox, but not which websites you visit. You have control over your participation, and can choose to opt out of any study, or see what data has been collected. You will be asked before any data is sent to Mozilla, and that data is subject to the Feedback and Test Pilot privacy policies.
The new version is still in the development phase and is only available for the Windows platform however the Mac and Linux versions are expected very soon. How does the new version fair in the race for the fastest browser is still unknown but with all the big players coming up with newer versions for their browser it is sure to face a very tough competition in the market.
