The Indian company called iDuple has now announced and brought forth their plans for building an internet tablet. The concept is the combination of a couple of ideas which have evolved over a few years of time. The upcoming tablet is to have along with it one app, which is the web browser. The tablet is having no hard drive and is to have the capability of booting in about 5 seconds. But now let us see the interesting part of the tablet. The tablet is not going to have any hard drive, but does that actually apply to the fact that you may not be able to store any files, install apps or perform other activities that you will not expect from a browser-based tablet. iDuple has been specially designed to remotely connect you to a server that runs a virtual operating system.

In the other words, the operating system is in the clouds. The storage which you shall require will be in the clouds. The apps will be running in the cloud. For the purpose of handling resource-intensive applications, the tablet will not even require a lot of storage or a fast processor. The reason for this is that the applications shall be executed or rather be run by a remote processor or server. The users shall receive a 50 GB of cloud-based storage space for their files.

It rather appears that the tablet from iDuple might not work if you are offline. It has also been seen in the past that it is rather difficult to implement the cloud-based operating system, or the browser-based operating system. as of now, there is not even the hardware of this concept from iDuple to show off. But, yes, they have a picture of the concept which they have decided to come up with. Also, the demo of the web-based operating system can be seen from the official website of the company. You can go ahead and check that out if you want to. To check now, click on iDuple Demo from www.iduple.com. All that the company has to do now is to produce “a decent piece of hardware with good battery life and a suite of web-based apps that users will actually want to interact with.” Major point to win the netbook battle is that, iDuple price will be less than one third that of a netbook! Yet we have to wait till the full specifications and actual price are announced.
