Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type Mobile: Specs, Price & Review

The Nokia brand strikes again- the launch of the unusual or should we say the out of the league, Nokia X3 02 was predicted sometime very soon when it got leaked two days back but, that it would be launched today was in the minds of none. The device has been launched officially by the company and the specs sheet of the device has been made available. Here is what we made out of the device in our first look.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type Mobile: Specs, Price & Review

Nokia X3 02 is Nokia’s first handset to pack a touchscreen and a regular alphanumeric keypad simultaneously. Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type is the first S40 touch-driven device to get a global release. The handset looks awesome with its excellent exteriors primarily because of the thickness which has been kept at a mere 9.6 mm which indeed is thinner than most other Nokia phones. The handset measures a cool pocket fitting 106.2 x 48.4mm and sports some vibrant looks. The phone features a 2.4’’ resistive touch screen and a super smart user interface; I will have to say Nokia did a good job at building the user interface this time..

The phone is a super-fast internet device with the support for Class 10 GPRS and EDGE technology along with the support for 3G technology. The phone should give the surfers a speed of up to 300kps which indeed can be considered good for a phone in this price range. Also, the support for all the three 802.11/b/n/g WIFI kits makes the phone a good WiFi device as well. The five megapixels camera for the Nokia X3 02 Is capable carries a resolution  of 2592 x 1944 pixels which indeed is more than most of the other Nokia handsets, besides the excellent photo clicking capability the camera even fathoms  a stunning video recording capability with the ability to record videos at 720p.

The touchscreen of the device is one of the smallest touchscreens available in the market (slightly bigger than the Experia X10 mini) and so there is a doubt as to whether the touchscreen will be good enough to enjoy the UI of the device.  When it come s to internet or social networking features believe me the phone is a tough competition to any of the high end touch screen phones in the market. The smartphone (if we can call it that!) features integration with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk, Facebook and Twitter. With the memory the expansion limit upto 16GB which is less than the other phones in the mid-level range available in the market. But personally I believe that 16 GB is good enough for any smartphone user to have in his device.  The battery backup as usual for Nokia is excellent with the standard Nokia LI-ion battery providing 406hrs of standby time on both 2G and 3G. Wait for the release of Nokia X3-02 user manual for complete details.

Nokia X3-02 should hit the shelves before the end of next month in White Silver, Dark Metal, Petrol Blue, Pink and Lilac color versions. Its estimated retail price is 125 euro before taxes or subsides.
